MY STORY + THANK YOU
So many of you have followed along and supported me over the past 5 years as my life radically changed. Thank you…and we’re all still changing!
But I thought I’d recap my story and share where I am today. :)
Where I started 5 years ago:
>>In an unhappy marriage & working an awesome but not-right-for-me-long-term job at Google. Drinking wine most nights and zoning out on the couch.
>>Living on autopilot, following the expectations of others, procrastinating, feeling uninspired, listless, drab, & never really thinking about what I want in life or that I’m not guaranteed 78 years of life expectancy.
What changed:
Four of my friends died unexpectedly in unrelated events, and I had an awakening:
I can die at any time — and the only part of that within my control is how I live until that mystery moment comes.
This truth turned out to be my greatest motivation to live fully alive. I got divorced, quit the job, and started living for joy and curiosity instead of societal milestones.
I traveled the world for two years on a spiritual quest for Truth and Fun.
The YOU MIGHT DIE TOMORROW movement started growing beyond my wildest dreams with more than a million people reached.
I wrote a book to share this life-changing mindset with others.
I gave up alcohol completely to live fully awake, aware, and alive.
I now live in Sally Phoenix, the RV I bought and renovated. I live and teach yoga and meditation at a mindfulness retreat in Texas Hill Country and continue to write & lead this movement with so much earnest passion.
But most important is the mindset I get from living with a loving awareness toward my mortality and my soul:
I’m so grateful to be alive. Knowing I’m going die one day, I fear less, am less inhibited, and have a bias toward action and enjoying my life. I have an insatiable zeal for life and reverence for everything in it - nature, humanity, and even pain. Love is my guiding light.
ANYONE can feel like I do.
ANYONE mortal, that is.
My promise to you is to bring you perspective to help you feel more alive, embrace your mortal life, and live as the most vibrant expression of you.
THANK YOU for following along with me. I am so grateful for your love and support! So many of you have purchased stickers, mugs, and books, cheered me on, attended my events, and have been open to this profound (but not easy!) message.
Got a question? Ask me anything, anytime.
Lots of love & Happy Today,
kate
